True Blue Weekend Brings Campus Together
Video Producer: Andrew Bilindabagabo
Diplomat spirit rippled across campus Oct. 5-6 as Franklin & Marshall College welcomed an estimated 2,100 students, parents and alumni to True Blue Weekend.
Visitors got their first glimpse at the recently opened Lombardo Welcome Center, in addition to a striking new ampersand statue in front of the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
Throughout the weekend, F&M visitors enjoyed open houses in many academic departments, coffee hours, campus tours and reunion gatherings. Alumni, friends and families made their way to dozens of events across campus Saturday afternoon, including athletic competitions and a lively tailgate gathering at Williamson Field. Student and alumni authors enjoyed a 20th anniversary gathering at the Writers House.
The rumble of stomping feet on metal bleachers echoed from Shadek Stadium as the Diplomat football team secured a thrilling 23-14 win over Dickinson in the 115th game in the rivalry that stretches back to 1889. The field hockey and men鈥檚 soccer teams walked away with victories at Tylus Field, while women鈥檚 soccer secured a tie.
