Sally Badoud Joins F&M as Vice President for Communications and Marketing

Sally Badoud began as F&M’s new vice president for communications and marketing Feb. 9. She brings 25 years of experience in branding, communications, design, marketing and leadership within higher education.

“I am truly honored and beyond thrilled to join Franklin & Marshall College,” Badoud said. “F&M's reputation for academic excellence, close faculty-student engagement and commitment to developing thoughtful, engaged citizens makes this an especially meaningful opportunity. I'm excited to work alongside such a dedicated community in support of the College's mission.”

Most recently, Badoud served as associate vice president for enrollment marketing and creative services at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where she contributed to record enrollment in fall 2025. Badoud oversaw a robust team of designers, writers, digital content specialists, marketing planners, cinematographers and photographers, as well as web and digital marketing professionals and student interns. UTEP trains more than 26,000 students in nine colleges and schools with 171 degree programs.

From 2016 to 2025, Badoud served at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), rising from assistant to vice chancellor for communications and marketing. She oversaw communications and marketing efforts across UTHSC's six colleges.

At UTHSC, Badoud guided a comprehensive reorganization of the office of communications and marketing. She created and implemented new branding guidelines to strengthen UTHSC’s visual identity and increase statewide brand recognition by 18% over a five-year period. Badoud was honored by the UTHSC faculty senate with its Administrator of the Year for 2020-2021.

“Sally has deep experience with marketing and communications in higher education and beyond,” said F&M President Andrew Rich. “She is an experienced and collaborative leader with a creative eye that will be essential to F&M’s next chapter. I am excited for all she can do to advance Franklin & Marshall’s national and international reputation.”

A first-generation college student, Badoud began her career as a graphic designer, art director and creative director in the advertising industry before transitioning to higher education in 2010 at her alma mater, the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Over six years there, she served as assistant director of marketing and media services for professional and continuing studies (2010-2013), interim director of admissions (2013-2015) and director of marketing, student recruitment (2013-2016). She spearheaded the development and execution of highly strategic admissions campaigns, leading to multiple years of record-breaking enrollment beginning in 2015.

Badoud earned a bachelor’s degree in studio art with a graphic design focus at UAH, and later earned her M.B.A. at the university. She holds a certificate in crisis leadership in higher education from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Since 2021, Badoud has served on the board of AllMemphis, a Memphis-based nonprofit focused on increasing literacy and educational equity.

Badoud and her husband, Jeff, are the parents of two teenagers.
