How F&M Does Humanities

When you study humanities at F&M, you’ll explore human society and culture and how people make sense of their lives through artistic, cultural and intellectual expression. You’ll examine the range of human experience through subjects like art, languages, literature, philosophy, and more.

Out-of-the-Classroom Learning

At F&M, our emphasis on hands-on experiential learning means every student has opportunities to step out of the classroom and into the field. Student-Run Magazine Showcases Cultural Criticism

At Franklin & Marshall, your ideas may start in the classroom, but they won’t be contained there. For students in Associate Professor of English Erik Anderson’s Pop Culture Writing course, this meant putting what they learned into practice by creating an online magazine, Touch Grass.
